Dr. Li has been elected as the President of the Technical Commission II of the International Society of Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing (ISPRS) for 2012-2016 during the ISPRS Congress held in Melbourne, Australia from August 25 to September 1, 2012. Technical Commission II is on Theory and Concepts of Spatial Information Science.

Dr. Songnian Li is visiting KEIO University in Japan under a research fellowship awarded by the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS) under its “Invitation Fellowship Programs for Research in Japan” program. Dr. Li will spend two months there working with local researchers towards building longer-term international research collaborations.

Prof. Wanglin Yan, from KEIO University in Japan, is visiting GIS and Geospatial Collaboration lab. Prof. Yan will conduct collaborative research on urban environment and mobile geospatial applications here at Ryerson for eight months, followed by a research and conference trip to Europe and Austrilia.
